Weekly Twitter apps round up – April 26, 09
Posted in Deserving Twitter Apps on April 27th, 2009 by 2above – View CommentsIt’s been a busy week. We have seen quite a few upcoming twitter apps and twitter websites. Let’s dive right in:
Newly released Twitter apps
Tweetmart.com

Have something to sell? Login, click on “List an Item”, tweetmart will send a tweet out to your followers letting them know you have listed something. For those that are not on Twitter but like what you have to offer, they will be able to send you an e-mail letting you know they are interested. There doesn’t seem to be any payment mechanism built in. And I think their UI usability need huge help. Nevertheless, it’s an idea with potential.
Twitzap.com

The guys behind twitzap are serious geeks, they are trying to pull you away from desktop with real time feed, adjustable speed, tons of delicious stuff. If tweeting from another web app is your thing, go for it.
Tweetie for mac

I heard a lot of buzz around it and saw friends browsing it around, seems to be too cool. As I am not yet a mac user (used to code in mac environment in college), I will let you be the judge.
Twanalyst.com

I had a rather casual interview and review on Twanalyst on this blog. It’s absolutely the most viral twitter apps launched this week. Huge success and could be addictive, watch out.
Twitpub.com

If tweetmart tries to be a casual craigslist of twitter, (it’s gonna be a long and bumpy road), twitpub is the, very uniquely, the Marketplace for Premium Content on The Beat via Twitter. If you think this is a joke, think again. Outside of twitter, tons of people already subscribed to premium content such as Horoscopes, Jokes, Feng Sui, Politics, Financials, Stocks, Events, News, Gossips, etc. If someone subscribed to your specialized tweets, twitpub is planning to keep 20% of commission. I think this is very interesting model although it might look outrageous. Be aware that Stocktwits.com already partnered with premium content provider to charge for tweets.
Twindexx.com

TwindeXX aims to become a powerful filter to find best people to follow. Great idea if done right.
whendidyoujointwitter.appspot.com: extremely viral.
Popular twitter apps
tweepular.com

Like Twitalyzer, tweepular tells you how popular you are on twitter, through variety of traits, and colorful interface.
tinker.com

Tinker is shooting at the right direction. It helps you stay on top of your favorite events by showing you the latest buzz from Twitter and across the social web. Structure wise, it’s extremely similar to stocktwits.com, and you know twitter endorses that. Need me to say more?
twitoaster.com

This is a neat app threading all the conversation going on on twitter and rank them in popularity. It again goes in the right direction. However I am not sure how real time the conversations are. The data seems to be days old.
tweetbrain.com

TweetBrain is a crowdsourcing service powered by the Twitter community. It helps people and businesses build more connections using the Twitter platform. TweetBrain fosters mutually beneficial exchanges through the interchange of Q&As, boosting the viral effect of social networking. I definitely see huge application for this app.

twittermail.com
Let you tweet by sending out an email.
twittley.com

Twittley claims to be the first Twitter social news website made for people to discover and share content through Twitter network, by submitting links and stories, and voting and commenting on submitted links and stories. Much like digg in the “real world”
bigtweet.com

Bigtweet lets you surf the web and post to Twitter or FriendFeed! It’s a firefox plug in, all you need to do is to drag the button up to your toolbar.
